Nothing says TEATIME like scones and cream. This is just something to jazz up the clotted cream we have come to know and love. (This also works well with double cream too!)
Now, if you live in the US clotted cream and double cream will probably be harder to get your hands on. I find them both at Whole Foods or a British Specialty store. Places like Wal-Mart are making them easier to find because they are offering lots of stuff online (not in stores) that can be shipped within a few days. The only downside is needing to wait to get your products.
P.S. There is no true US equivalent. Our heavy whipping cream has the highest amount of cream, but double cream still has a higher content and is thicker.
British foods, especially their desserts, often use double cream as an ingredient, so if you like to indulge it is worth finding out where you can get these little goodies.
